Shocking but not surprising at the same time. I wonder if the ADHD phenomenon (significant increase in diagnosis) is linked to a change in criteria as well.

Most likely. With every revised edition of the DSM the diagnosis criteria is adapted, not for all conditions but for many. To give you an idea, the first versions had about 60 mental disorders, and we are now up to 300 officially recognized mental disorders. For the ADHD specific case, many parents are convinced of the diagnosis beforehand and seek it out until they receive a confirmation and a prescription.

I just read it, thanks for sharing! I think you bring up valuable points, and of course you are correct in pointing the simultaneous prevalence of autism and gender dysphoria.
